Bushkill Township Volunteer Fire Company was established in 1958 by a handful of concerned residents who sought the need for a fire department and today we currently consist of 4 very strong divisions working in harmony as one:

Fire, EMS, Fire Police and Ladies Auxiliary.

Our mission has been the same since our founding which is to provide protection against the ravages of fires, floods, furies of nature, and the need for assistance of medical distress and any other man made emergencies while along protecting the ever changing environment of our community.
Bushkill Township Volunteer Fire Company provides around the clock, 365 days a year Fire Protection and Basic Life Support (BLS) Ambulance Service to Bushkill Township residents and also provides mutual aid service to the surrounding communities when requested.

With a population of about 7,500 residents which consists an area of 25.08 square miles. Bushkill Township Volunteer Fire Company responds yearly to approximately 300 Fire / Rescue calls and 600 EMS calls. Currently we are staffed by about 95% volunteers and a fully paid EMS staff that was developed in 2006 by the ever so changing life styles of our members ending a 48 year standing of being completely all volunteer Company
Our funds are obtained through our annual Fire and EMS fund drives, A donation from the Bushkill Township Board of Supervisors and lastly and most important is our Fund raising events which make up about 80% of our annual budget.
Bushkill Township Volunteer Fire Company has proudly sponsored Cub Pack 48 since 1960 and Boy Scout Troop 74 since 1976 thus providing a safe environment for the youth of our community to meet
